This era of SimCity (4 included) marks the peak of Maxis city builders, the fathers of the genre as we know it. I would inmediatelly include SimCity 4 alongside this recommendation (that game is also available in GOG, but at the same time in steam, so not an exclusive), you can assume that all of this also applies to SC4. Sadly I need to admit that it has some compatibility issues with modern systems, with the aid of a third party patch you can get to play one of the best games ever. It's a good introduction to franchise, and as the Integral release, it includes all the content from the original game + the VR missions disk. Originally released on GOG alongside it's sequel MGS2 and the original 1987 Metal Gear, this is the only game with "Solid" in the title still available for purchase in the platform, and is still to this day one gem of a game.
